Portuguese Digital Health Platform Hope Care Secures €6 Million Series A to Expand Remote Patient Monitoring Across Europe

Hope Care, a Portuguese digital health company, has closed a €6 million Series A funding round to accelerate its European expansion and scale its remote patient monitoring platform across key healthcare markets.

The round was led by Iberis Capital, with participation from Vieira de Matos – VDM Capital, S.A. and Buenavista Equity Partners. The investment marks a significant milestone for the company, which was founded in 2012 and has spent over a decade working directly with healthcare institutions across Europe.

Building on a Decade of Healthcare Experience

Hope Care has developed a regulated remote patient monitoring platform designed to deliver measurable outcomes for patients, healthcare professionals, and healthcare systems. The company’s long-standing relationships with healthcare providers have informed its approach to digital health solutions that integrate with existing clinical workflows rather than disrupt them.

José Paulo Carvalho, a representative of the company, outlined the significance of the funding round: “This Series A marks a new stage for Hope Care. After more than a decade working with healthcare institutions, we have built a regulated platform that delivers measurable outcomes for patients, healthcare professionals and healthcare systems. With the support of our investors, we are now well positioned to accelerate our European expansion and bring this model of care to more healthcare organisations.”

Strategic Geographic Expansion

The capital injection will support Hope Care’s expansion strategy across Europe, with immediate plans to establish new offices in Germany and Romania. Simultaneously, the company intends to scale its remote patient monitoring programmes in existing markets including Portugal, France, and Switzerland.

Beyond geographic expansion, the funding will strengthen Hope Care’s commercial capabilities and operational infrastructure, enabling the company to support more healthcare organisations in deploying remote monitoring programmes. The investment also reflects growing demand for regulated telehealth solutions that meet European regulatory requirements while demonstrating clinical and economic value.

Broader European Healthtech Trends

Hope Care’s funding round reflects the maturation of Europe’s remote patient monitoring sector. As healthcare systems across the continent face pressure from aging populations and chronic disease management challenges, investment in regulated digital health platforms has increased substantially. Unlike many early-stage healthtech startups pursuing rapid growth without clinical validation, Hope Care’s approach emphasises regulatory compliance and measurable healthcare outcomes—factors that resonate increasingly with institutional investors.

The company’s focus on working within existing healthcare systems rather than attempting to disrupt them has proven attractive to established healthcare providers, particularly in countries with strong regulatory frameworks. As European healthcare markets continue digitising, platforms like Hope Care that combine regulatory expertise with clinical effectiveness are well-positioned to capture institutional demand for remote patient monitoring solutions.
