Zerow, an Italian B2B platform focused on helping luxury fashion brands manage unsold inventory and circular material flows, has completed a €1 million fundraising round combining private and public capital sources.
The funding structure reflects Italy’s evolving startup landscape, with €400,000 coming from a private bridge round backed by business angels and Italian investment funds, supplemented by public support from the Smart&Start Italia programme managed by Invitalia and additional grants from the Tuscany region. The round brings the company’s total financing to approximately $1.08 million.
Addressing Regulatory and Operational Demands
The capital injection will support three primary initiatives: developing proprietary software modules designed to streamline unsold inventory management and European Sustainability and Responsibility (ESPR) compliance, expanding the company’s workforce, and accelerating commercial activities across European and United States markets.
Zerow’s timing aligns with significant shifts in the fashion industry’s regulatory environment. As European brands face increasingly stringent sustainability requirements, the operational complexity of managing unsold goods and tracking material flows has become a pressing concern for luxury manufacturers.
Gabriele Rorandelli, speaking on behalf of the company, underscored this urgency: “This milestone confirms that the transition towards circular models in the fashion sector is no longer an optional choice, but a concrete industrial necessity. With the new European regulatory framework, luxury brands need operational tools to manage unsold goods and certify material flows. We want to be their reference technological and strategic partner to guide this transformation.”
Market Opportunity in Circular Fashion
The fashion industry’s shift toward circular economy principles represents a substantial market opportunity. Luxury brands increasingly recognize that managing excess inventory and material flows efficiently is not merely an environmental imperative but a regulatory and commercial necessity. Zerow’s platform addresses this gap by providing technological infrastructure that simplifies compliance while improving operational efficiency.
The company’s focus on the luxury segment positions it within a high-value market segment where investment in compliance and inventory optimization solutions carries significant ROI potential. Italian fashion’s prominence in the European luxury ecosystem provides an initial market advantage, with expansion into broader European and North American markets representing the next growth phase.
European Ecosystem Context
This funding round reflects broader trends in European startup financing, particularly the growing prominence of blended funding models combining private venture capital with public sector support. Italy’s Smart&Start Italia programme has become an increasingly important mechanism for supporting early-stage technology companies, while regional initiatives like those from Tuscany demonstrate how local governments are fostering innovation clusters around sustainability-focused solutions.
The round also highlights investor appetite for sustainability-focused B2B software in Europe, where regulatory pressures create structural demand for compliance and optimization tools across multiple industries beyond fashion alone.
