Berlin-Based Robin Capital Closes Second Fund at €15 Million, Doubling Its Early-Stage War Chest

Robin Capital, a Berlin-based early-stage venture capital firm, has announced the close of its second fund at €15 million ($16.2 million), bringing its total capital under management to €30 million. The milestone represents a significant expansion for the young venture house, which was founded in 2023.

The newly closed Robin Capital Fund II will focus on pre-Seed and Seed-stage European companies developing technologies in artificial intelligence, enterprise software, robotics, defence, space exploration and DeepTech sectors. The firm typically deploys between €100,000 and €600,000 per investment, positioning itself as a lead investor for emerging European founders at critical early stages of company building.

Robin Capital operates under a Solo General Partner model, led by founder Robin Haak. Despite the structure’s name, Haak emphasizes the collaborative nature of the operation. “They call it a Solo GP, but nothing about building Robin Capital has ever been solo,” Haak stated. “Our limited partners, founders, and venture partners are what make this possible. We believe the best venture capital partnerships are built on trust, conviction, and a genuine willingness to help one another succeed.”

Diverse LP Base Signals Confidence

The fund’s investor base reflects a mixture of entrepreneurial talent and established institutional capital. The limited partner network includes seasoned entrepreneurs, unicorn founders, family offices, and institutional investors. Named supporters include luxury automotive brand Ferrari, Italian entrepreneur Moratti, Dutch payments company Adyen, trading platform FTMO, investment firm Permira, financial services giant Macquarie, and venture capital firm FJ Labs.

This composition suggests confidence from both operational founders and institutional allocators in Robin Capital’s approach to early-stage European tech investment. The participation of successful tech entrepreneurs and unicorn founders as LPs indicates a blend of capital seeking market exposure combined with investors looking to deploy operational expertise.

European AI and DeepTech Focus

The fund’s sector focus aligns with broader European ambitions to build technological leadership in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. By concentrating on pre-Seed and Seed-stage companies, Robin Capital positions itself to identify promising European founders before they attract larger institutional rounds.

The emphasis on robotics, space, and defence technologies reflects growing investment interest in these sectors across Europe, as the continent seeks to reduce technological dependencies and develop sovereign capabilities in strategic industries.

Broader Ecosystem Context

Robin Capital’s fund expansion comes amid sustained interest in European early-stage venture capital, even as headline funding figures have moderated from pandemic peaks. The firm’s ability to close a second fund within its first two years of operation demonstrates continued appetite for specialized early-stage vehicles, particularly those with clear technological thesis and European geographic focus. As European policymakers and institutional investors increasingly prioritize deep technology development, venture firms with concentrated exposure to AI, space and defence sectors have attracted renewed attention within the continent’s capital allocation ecosystem.
