YGO Secures €8 Million Series A to Revolutionise AI-Powered Travel Infrastructure

YGO has closed a €8 million Series A funding round to accelerate the development and commercialisation of its AI-driven travel infrastructure platform. The financing round, led by Ventech, saw participation from Sake Bosch, Caesar Capital and several business angels.

The German startup has built a technology layer designed to make travel inventory—airline seats, hotel rooms, tour operator packages—accessible and bookable by artificial intelligence systems. The platform bridges travel companies with their suppliers, enabling seamless integration with both proprietary AI tools and third-party AI agents.

The fresh capital will fund three strategic priorities: expanding the company’s sales and go-to-market operations, advancing the core AI platform capabilities, and driving geographic expansion beyond the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). YGO plans to target enterprise and mid-sized travel companies as it scales internationally.

Reimagining Legacy Travel Infrastructure

According to YGO co-founder Julian Kögel, the travel industry remains trapped in outdated technological frameworks. “Travel is one of the last major industries still built on infrastructure that was never designed for an AI-first world. We built YGO to change that: to give the travel industry the infrastructure to make its inventory accessible, bookable and ready for AI – whether through their own platforms or through external AI agents,” Kögel stated.

The observation reflects a broader challenge facing traditional travel sectors. While airlines, hotel chains and tour operators have invested substantially in digital infrastructure over the past two decades, many systems were architected for human-centric booking flows rather than machine-to-machine interactions. This gap has become increasingly significant as generative AI applications proliferate and travel companies seek to integrate with emerging AI-powered travel assistants and booking agents.

Strategic Positioning in a Shifting Market

YGO’s approach targets both established travel operators seeking to modernise their systems and new entrants building AI-native travel platforms. By providing standardised APIs and integration tools, the company positions itself as foundational infrastructure rather than a consumer-facing application.

The timing of the Series A reflects growing investor confidence in European deep-tech solutions addressing enterprise challenges. Ventech’s lead role underscores the investor’s track record backing infrastructure-layer companies across the continent.

The funding announcement comes as the European startup ecosystem continues producing solutions to sector-specific digitisation challenges. Travel and hospitality remain significant but underserved segments, with most innovation historically concentrated in fintech, healthtech and logistics. YGO’s success in securing backing from established venture investors suggests growing appetite for startups tackling automation opportunities in traditionally fragmented industries where AI integration remains nascent.
