On 1 October 2026 D‑Orbit successfully deployed three ION Satellite Carrier vehicles—SCV Empowering Ekaterina, SCV Absolute Andreas, and SCV Alluring Alexander—from SpaceX’s Transporter‑18 mission, delivering a record‑large payload of about 1.5 tonnes and demonstrating the company’s mature multi‑vehicle operational capability.
D-Orbit, a European space logistics scale-up, signed a contract with Japanese satellite integrator ArkEdge Space to provide launch services via its ION Satellite Carrier for multiple missions between 2027 and 2028. The partnership leverages D-Orbit’s orbital logistics expertise and ArkEdge’s end-to-end satellite solutions, supported by Marubeni Corporation as a key investor and commercial agent in the APAC region.
D-Orbit, an Italian spacetech scaleup, collaborated with Disney Italia to send a 3D-scanned replica of the Mandalorian helmet to orbit aboard the Wayfinder mission on March 30, 2026, launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base via SpaceX’s Falcon 9 as part of the Transporter-16 mission. The helmet was deployed at approximately 510 kilometers altitude in sun-synchronous orbit and captured unique images with Earth in the background using cameras developed internally by D-Orbit.
