Kabilio, a Spanish fintech company specializing in AI-powered accounting automation, has secured €10 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development and rollout of its accounting agent platform. The round was led by Picus Capital, with participation from Visionaries and CDTI, bringing the company’s total funding to €14 million.
The capital injection marks a significant milestone for the Madrid-based startup, which has built a collaborative platform designed to streamline accounting workflows for both accounting firms and their small business clients. The fresh funds will be directed toward launching an AI accounting agent, automating additional accounting processes, and expanding the shared platform infrastructure that connects firms with their clients.
Solving Data Quality Challenges
At the core of Kabilio’s approach is a recognition that AI effectiveness depends fundamentally on data quality and availability. The company has designed its platform to centralize financial information from multiple sources, ensuring that accounting agents have access to real-time, accurate data. When businesses issue invoices or payments are processed, the information flows directly into the shared platform where the AI agent can act immediately.
According to Álex Valls, “An agent is only as good as the data it works on. That is why we are bringing the firm’s clients onto the same platform: the moment a business issues an invoice or a payment hits its bank, the firm has it and the agent will be able to act on it. The firm is freed from busy work, and its clients feel the difference.”
This approach addresses a persistent pain point in accounting automation—fragmented data sources and manual reconciliation work that consumes significant time for accounting professionals and creates friction in client relationships.
Market Traction and Growth
Kabilio currently serves approximately 500 accounting firms through its platform and employs 80 people. The company has positioned itself within the growing segment of European startups tackling professional services automation through AI and cloud technology. The accounting sector represents a particularly attractive market for automation, given the high volume of routine tasks and the persistent shortage of qualified accounting professionals across Europe.
Broader European Context
The funding round reflects growing confidence among European venture investors in AI-driven solutions for traditionally manual-intensive sectors. Spain has emerged as a meaningful hub for fintech innovation in recent years, with startups addressing automation, compliance, and efficiency challenges that plague traditional professional services. Picus Capital’s involvement underscores investor appetite for companies solving concrete workflow problems with AI technology, particularly those targeting the substantial installed base of small and medium-sized businesses that drive the European economy.
