TextYess, a Milan-based customer relationship management platform, has closed a €4 million Series A funding round to accelerate product development and international expansion. The round was led by Italian Founders Fund, with participation from VC Partners and Entourage.
The capital brings TextYess’s total funding to €7 million since its founding in 2023. The company plans to deploy the new capital toward enhancing its AI-driven CRM and AI agent capabilities, as well as launching operations in the United Kingdom as its first international market.
TextYess provides e-commerce brands with an AI-powered customer engagement platform built around WhatsApp messaging. The platform enables businesses to automate customer interactions through intelligent agents while maintaining the ability to manage conversations directly when needed. According to the company, this approach addresses a specific pain point in the market: brands understand their messaging strategy but lack the resources to execute it at scale.
“When we launched TextYess, we gave brands a higher‑performing channel: WhatsApp, managed by AI agents that turn conversations into sales,” said Riccardo Russo, CEO and co‑founder of TextYess. “Working with over 350 brands, we realized the real limit was not the channel but the time to work on it. Brands know what to send and to whom, but lack staff to manage everything. That’s why we are building both the CRM and the AI agents that run it, and this is just the beginning.”
Market opportunity in conversational commerce
The funding round reflects growing investor confidence in conversational commerce platforms, particularly those leveraging WhatsApp’s massive user base. With over 2 billion monthly active users, WhatsApp has become an increasingly important channel for business-to-consumer communication, yet many brands struggle to manage conversations efficiently at scale.
TextYess’s dual approach—combining traditional CRM functionality with autonomous AI agents—positions the company to capture brands seeking both automation and flexibility. The platform currently serves over 350 brands, suggesting meaningful traction in the Italian market prior to expansion.
European expansion strategy
The decision to enter the UK market first signals TextYess’s confidence in the broader European e-commerce landscape. The United Kingdom represents a mature market for digital commerce with well-established expectations around customer service and omnichannel engagement, making it a logical testing ground for international operations.
The funding round underscores the continued viability of SaaS-based CRM solutions in Europe, even as the sector becomes increasingly crowded. Italian Founders Fund’s participation highlights the strengthening venture capital ecosystem in Italy, where founders and investors are supporting homegrown technology companies targeting continental and global opportunities. As TextYess moves beyond Italy, the company joins a growing cohort of European CRM platforms competing in the artificial intelligence-enhanced customer engagement space.
