Phononic Vibes, a Milan-based deep-tech company specialising in acoustic metamaterials, has secured €25 million in a growth-stage financing round to accelerate its international expansion and broaden the application of its proprietary noise and vibration control technology.
The round was led by Jolt Capital, with participation from Eureka! Venture SGR, CDP Venture Capital SGR, and Simest SpA. The investment brings Phononic Vibes’ total funding to €27.3 million since its founding in 2018.
Scaling Innovation Across Industries
The Milan-based startup will deploy the capital to scale its proprietary design engine internationally, expand its technology into new applications, strengthen delivery capabilities, and pursue targeted acquisitions. The company’s acoustic metamaterial solutions address a critical challenge in infrastructure and manufacturing: reducing noise and vibration while minimising weight and spatial requirements.
According to Andrea Traversone, the company’s leadership, the timing reflects a fundamental shift in the noise control sector. “Noise control is reaching a turning point. Conventional products have hit their physical limit, and infrastructure needs quieter assets with less weight and space,” Traversone stated. The observation underscores growing regulatory pressures and environmental concerns driving demand for advanced noise mitigation technologies across multiple industries.
Established Market Presence
Phononic Vibes has already established credibility with major industrial players. The company counts Deutsche Bahn and Mercedes‑Benz among its existing customers, validating its technology’s effectiveness in demanding applications. These partnerships position the startup to leverage its new capital for deeper market penetration and product diversification.
The funding will specifically target expansion into rail, automotive, and industrial sectors—markets where noise and vibration control has become increasingly critical for regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and consumer satisfaction. The acoustic metamaterials approach offers advantages over traditional solutions by enabling lighter, more compact designs without compromising performance.
European Deeptech Momentum
The investment reflects ongoing confidence in European deep-tech innovation, particularly in niche engineering domains. The consortium of investors—combining venture capital expertise through Jolt Capital and Eureka! Venture with institutional backing from CDP Venture Capital and export credit support via Simest—demonstrates how European funding infrastructure is adapting to support capital-intensive technology companies beyond their seed stages.
Phononic Vibes joins a growing cohort of Italian deeptech ventures attracting significant growth-stage capital. The company’s trajectory from 2018 foundation to €27.3 million in total funding illustrates both the viability of advanced material science commercialisation and the European ecosystem’s capacity to nurture technology companies with global market potential. As regulatory requirements around noise pollution intensify across Europe and internationally, solutions addressing the physical limitations of conventional approaches are increasingly valuable to industrial partners seeking differentiated competitive advantages.
