Estonian Defense Tech Startup Vegvisir Secures Investment from Iron Wolf Capital for Command-and-Control Platform

Vegvisir, an Estonian defense technology company, has announced a venture investment from Iron Wolf Capital to advance its unified command-and-control platform for multi-domain battlefield operations. The funding round also includes participation from Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of robotics firm Milrem Robotics.

The capital injection will enable Vegvisir to accelerate product development, deepen integrations with allied unmanned platform providers, and expand its commercial and government customer pipeline. The company’s platform addresses a critical challenge facing modern military forces: the need to seamlessly coordinate manned and unmanned systems operating across ground, air, maritime, and sub-sea domains.

Tackling Interoperability Challenges

As defense organizations worldwide modernize their operational capabilities, the integration of diverse platforms and systems remains a significant technical and logistical hurdle. Vegvisir’s solution seeks to bridge this gap by creating a unified interface that enables commanders to oversee and coordinate assets across multiple operational domains in real time.

The investment from Iron Wolf Capital, a defense-focused venture firm, reflects growing momentum in the Baltic and Central European defense technology sector. The firm’s involvement extends beyond financial backing, according to Vegvisir’s leadership.

“Iron Wolf Capital understands the problem we are solving at a level that goes beyond the financial opportunity,” said Ingvar Pärnamäe, Co-Founder and CEO of Vegvisir. “Their footprint at the front line of NATO’s Eastern Flank, and their relationships across Baltic and Central European defense and policy circles, give us a strategic amplifier that capital alone cannot buy. This is the partnership we were looking for.”

Strategic Positioning in Evolving Security Landscape

The timing of Vegvisir’s funding reflects broader shifts in European defense spending and procurement priorities. NATO members across Central and Eastern Europe have substantially increased defense budgets in response to regional security developments, creating demand for advanced command-and-control capabilities that can operate across legacy and emerging military systems.

Kuldar Väärsi’s participation in the round underscores the interconnected nature of the Estonian defense technology ecosystem. Milrem Robotics, which specializes in unmanned ground systems, represents the type of platform provider that could benefit from integration with Vegvisir’s command infrastructure.

The Estonian startup joins a growing cohort of European defense technology firms attracting venture investment to address critical capability gaps within NATO. These companies are developing solutions that enhance interoperability, reduce response times, and improve situational awareness—priorities that align with ongoing NATO modernization efforts.

For Vegvisir, the capital and strategic support from Iron Wolf Capital position the company to pursue commercial relationships with allied defense ministries and private sector operators managing unmanned systems across Europe and beyond.
