Munich AI Startup Marble Cognition Secures $3.75M in Pre-Seed Round Led by Heartcore and Seedcamp

Marble Cognition, a Munich-based artificial intelligence startup, has closed a $3.75 million pre-seed funding round co-led by venture capital firms Heartcore and Seedcamp. The round also attracted participation from a notable group of angel investors, including a Datadog board member, Personio founder Oskar Vilhelmsson, and executives from McKinsey, Mistral AI, and Lovable.

Founded in late 2025, Marble Cognition has developed an approach to enterprise AI that centers on learning work processes through observation. Rather than requiring detailed instructions or manual configuration, the company’s platform watches how employees actually perform their tasks before automating them.

Solving the AI Implementation Challenge

The startup’s core value proposition addresses a persistent challenge in enterprise automation: translating how work actually happens into instructions that AI systems can follow. Co-founder Felix Rösner described the problem directly: “Every company we talk to wants AI to take over real work. But nobody can tell the AI how that work is actually done. So we solve that first. Our Coworkers watch how the work happens before they take it over. They do it the way your best people do,” he stated.

This approach distinguishes Marble Cognition from traditional automation tools that require extensive configuration or predefined workflows. By observing employee behavior patterns, the platform can replicate work processes more efficiently than conventional rule-based systems.

Strategic Use of Capital

The funding will support three primary growth initiatives for the Munich-headquartered company. The startup plans to scale its inference capabilities, enabling the platform to handle more complex workflows and larger deployments. Simultaneously, Marble Cognition intends to expand its engineering team in Munich, strengthening its technical foundation as it develops its product.

International expansion forms the third pillar of the strategy, with the company targeting the US market as its next geographical focus. This expansion reflects growing interest from North American enterprises in AI-powered productivity tools.

Building Momentum in European AI

The backing from Heartcore and Seedcamp underscores the continued appetite among European venture investors for AI infrastructure and enterprise automation solutions. Both firms have established track records supporting early-stage technology companies across the continent.

The angel investor syndicate reflects confidence from seasoned operators across multiple sectors. Participation from Personio’s founder—whose human resources software company has become one of Europe’s most valuable startups—signals belief in Marble Cognition’s potential to address genuine enterprise needs.

The funding announcement highlights Munich’s growing prominence as a hub for artificial intelligence development, joining cities like Berlin and Paris that have attracted substantial venture investment in recent years. As European startups continue developing novel approaches to enterprise AI, companies like Marble Cognition demonstrate the region’s capability to attract both institutional capital and experienced angel investors willing to back ambitious founders tackling complex technical challenges.
