London Fintech LO:TECH Secures $12 Million Series A to Expand 24/7 Trading Infrastructure Globally

LO:TECH, a London-based trading infrastructure provider, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate its expansion into North America and the Asia-Pacific region. The round was led by MMC, with additional participation from Faction, 13 Books Capital, and Atka.

The capital injection will enable the fintech company to establish offices in New York and Singapore, expand its execution services for institutional clients, and pursue necessary regulatory authorisations in new markets. The funding underscores growing demand for trading infrastructure that operates continuously across traditional assets and digital markets.

Rethinking Infrastructure for Modern Markets

According to Tim Meggs, CEO and co-founder of LO:TECH, the company addresses a fundamental mismatch between how capital markets were historically structured and how they operate today. “Capital markets were built for a world that opened at 8am and closed at 4.30pm. That’s not how risk is traded any more,” Meggs stated. “The best trading firms in the world are technologically advanced, but they grew up on top of traditional market infrastructure. We built ours from scratch for markets that run 24/7, onchain and across every asset class.”

This positioning reflects broader shifts in financial markets, where cryptocurrency and digital assets trade without pause, and institutional investors increasingly seek exposure to global markets across different time zones simultaneously.

Strategic Expansion Plans

The Series A round represents a significant milestone for the London-based startup as it moves to internationalise its operations. The planned offices in New York and Singapore position the company to serve major institutional trading hubs in both the Western and Eastern hemispheres. The focus on expanding execution services suggests LO:TECH intends to deepen its offerings beyond basic infrastructure, providing more comprehensive trading solutions to its client base.

Regulatory authorisations remain a key component of the expansion strategy, reflecting the increasingly complex compliance landscape for trading platforms operating across multiple jurisdictions. The capital will support the company’s efforts to obtain necessary licenses and approvals in its target markets.

European Fintech Momentum

LO:TECH’s funding success reflects continued investor appetite for European fintech companies addressing structural challenges in capital markets. While much attention in the startup ecosystem focuses on consumer-facing financial services, trading infrastructure remains an attractive sector for venture capital, particularly as institutional adoption of digital assets accelerates.

The involvement of multiple investors with distinct portfolio focuses—from MMC’s broader fintech expertise to specialists like 13 Books Capital—suggests confidence in both the company’s execution capabilities and the broader market opportunity it is targeting.
