BlubRaid, a SaaS platform developed by four Romanian high school students, has launched its minimum viable product with the goal of addressing a growing concern in enterprise AI deployment: controlling what autonomous AI agents can actually do within company systems.
The platform functions as what its creators describe as a supervisory layer for AI agents, allowing organizations to establish guardrails that prevent automated systems from executing actions that violate internal policies or regulatory requirements. This approach reflects mounting pressure from European regulators and enterprise security teams grappling with the risks posed by increasingly autonomous AI systems.
Safeguarding Against Unintended Consequences
According to Horațiu Budai, one of the founders, “BlubRaid is like a bodyguard that prevents an AI agent from entering a place where it could make an unwanted change in your business.” The platform essentially enables companies to implement a verification and blocking mechanism between AI agent decisions and their execution, creating what amounts to a compliance checkpoint.
The team has designed BlubRaid to address specific regulatory frameworks that are shaping European AI governance. The solution aims to ensure compliance with both GDPR requirements and the emerging European AI Act, which establishes rules for high-risk AI applications. Rather than allowing AI agents to operate autonomously without oversight, BlubRaid’s dual-brain architecture gives organizations the ability to review, verify, or halt agent actions before they take effect.
Building Momentum and Expansion Plans
The BlubRaid team is currently pursuing multiple paths to establish their business and secure capital. The founders are participating in “Tinerii în Arenă,” a Romanian competition program, while simultaneously preparing an application for Y Combinator—a move that would grant them access to significant mentorship and investor networks if accepted.
Based across Romania with operations in both Brașov and Timișoara, the team is targeting a pre-seed investment round to fuel development and market expansion. Their strategy involves establishing a foothold in the European market before eventually expanding into the United States, where regulatory frameworks around AI governance are still taking shape.
The timing for BlubRaid aligns with a broader shift in how European enterprises approach AI deployment. As autonomous agents become more prevalent in business operations, the demand for oversight mechanisms that prevent unintended consequences has grown substantially.
