Strolll, a Stafford-based digital therapeutics company specialising in augmented reality neurorehabilitation solutions, has secured €5 million in fresh capital to accelerate its growth trajectory. The funding comprises a €4.18 million innovation loan and an €813,200 GCIP award from Innovate UK, alongside additional equity investment led by IW Capital, with backing from Cleveland Clinic and Future Planet Capital Regional.
The injection of capital brings Strolll’s total funding to €17.2 million since its founding in 2018, positioning the healthtech company for significant expansion within the European digital therapeutics market.
Expanding Clinical Reach
Strolll intends to deploy the funds across three strategic initiatives. The company will accelerate development of its StrolllAssessment platform, establish a fully equipped biomechanics laboratory, and launch StrolllAcute—a new augmented reality bedside rehabilitation system designed specifically for acute patient care settings.
The StrolllAssessment platform represents the company’s core offering, providing clinicians with data-driven tools for evaluating patient progress in neurological rehabilitation. By expanding this capability alongside new acute care solutions, Strolll aims to extend its reach beyond current deployment settings.
“Our team is committed to revolutionising rehabilitation for those living with neurological disorders. This funding will help us accelerate our mission to increase patient engagement, support progression and help clinicians deliver effective neurorehabilitation to a wider patient population,” said Jorgen Ellis, CEO and Co-founder of Strolll.
Diversified Investor Base
The participation of Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s leading healthcare providers, signals confidence in Strolll’s clinical approach and technological direction. The US-headquartered institution’s involvement reflects growing institutional interest in European digital therapeutics solutions.
IW Capital’s lead role in the equity round demonstrates investor appetite for growth-stage healthtech companies addressing neurological rehabilitation. The combination of public innovation funding through Innovate UK with private capital underscores the commercial viability of Strolll’s platform within the market.
Broader Market Context
Strolll’s funding round arrives as European healthtech companies increasingly secure significant capital to develop digital solutions for chronic disease management. The integration of augmented reality into clinical rehabilitation represents a growing segment within digital therapeutics, where companies are moving beyond software-based interventions toward immersive technologies that enhance patient engagement and clinical outcomes.
The UK’s continued position as a hub for digital health innovation is reflected in Innovate UK’s support for deeptech solutions addressing unmet clinical needs. Strolll’s expansion plans, particularly the development of acute care-focused systems, address a market segment with substantial clinical demand across European healthcare systems dealing with post-stroke and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
