Finnish Insect Protein Producer Volare Opens Industrial Factory, Secures €7.1 Million in Series B Funding
Finnish startup Volare, founded in 2021, has completed its first 10,000 m² industrial insect‑protein plant in Pori, delivering €15 million of CAPEX on schedule and within budget. The company raised €7.1 million from Springvest and Maki.vc to scale the facility, which can produce up to 5,000 t of insect protein and 2,000 t of insect oil annually, and plans to replicate the model throughout Europe.
