Study reveals 80% of European FMCG websites violate privacy rules by sharing data before consent
Nixon Digital released a study of 200 FMCG brand websites across Europe, finding that most sites leak personal data to Google, Meta, LinkedIn and other services before the visitor interacts with the cookie consent wall. The report shows that 68% of sites have at least one clear breach of consent rules, and many use cookie‑management tools like OneTrust or Cookiebot that fail to block tags, pixels and scripts. The company aims to raise awareness rather than name‑and‑shame the brands.
