Tandem Health, a Stockholm-based healthtech company, has raised $100 million in Series B funding to accelerate the adoption of its AI-powered medical assistant across European healthcare providers. The round was led by the Scaleup Europe Fund and included participation from EQT, Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries, bringing the company’s total funding to $160 million.
The investment marks a significant milestone for the startup, which is positioning itself as a distinctly European alternative to AI healthcare solutions designed for other markets. Tandem Health’s platform assists clinicians by automating administrative and clinical tasks, with the goal of reducing workload pressures within healthcare systems operating under considerable strain.
Expanding the Vision
Beyond expanding adoption of its current AI medical assistant, Tandem Health intends to use the capital to develop what it describes as an AI-native Clinic Operating System. This broader platform would manage patient flows and handle additional clinical tasks, representing an evolution from point-solution software to a more comprehensive healthcare infrastructure product.
The company also plans to strengthen its clinician-led team, reflecting its emphasis on building solutions alongside medical professionals rather than imposing technology from outside the sector.
Lukas Saari, associated with the company, articulated the market opportunity in a statement: “Europe’s health systems are under real strain and AI presents a real solution. But until now, European care providers have had to depend either on legacy solutions or AI solutions originally built for other markets that were retrofitted for Europe.”

Rather than adapting solutions designed for the United States healthcare system or other regions, Tandem Health has been built with European clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and healthcare structures in mind from the outset.
