Opply Secures $7.5M Series A to Expand AI Platform Across CPG Sector

Opply, a London-based artificial intelligence startup serving the consumer packaged goods sector, has raised $7.5 million in Series A funding to scale its agentic AI platform across the CPG industry.

The round was led by Chalfen Ventures, with participation from Index Ventures, Anthemis, Entrepreneurs First, In This Together, and Ventures Together.

The startup has developed an autonomous operating system designed to handle critical backend functions for CPG brands. Rather than providing analytical insights, Opply’s platform actively executes operational tasks across sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, and payment processing. The company targets both emerging brands and established international companies seeking to automate and streamline these traditionally labor-intensive processes.

Automating Core Operations

According to Helen Murphy, the company’s chief executive, the platform’s differentiator lies in its capacity to take direct action. “Our AI technology doesn’t just tell brands what needs to be done. It does the work, managing everything from sourcing and procurement to payments and supply chains. This latest funding gives us the opportunity to bring that model to many more businesses, from ambitious emerging brands to major global players,” Murphy stated.

The CPG sector has increasingly looked toward automation to address persistent supply chain challenges and operational inefficiencies. Opply’s approach positions itself within this broader trend, offering a comprehensive solution that consolidates multiple functions into a single platform.

Growth Plans

The fresh capital will support two main strategic objectives: expanding the platform’s reach to a wider customer base spanning different company sizes and stages of maturity, and strengthening Opply’s internal capabilities in product development and operational scaling.

The funding comes as the UK startup ecosystem continues to attract venture capital for artificial intelligence applications. Consumer goods companies have emerged as a particularly receptive market for AI-driven solutions, given the sector’s complex supply chain requirements and the significant costs associated with manual procurement and sourcing processes.

European AI Momentum

Opply’s Series A round reflects broader confidence in European AI startups targeting vertical markets. While major technology hubs continue to dominate investment flows, an increasing number of specialized AI platforms are securing substantial funding rounds by addressing specific industry pain points. The CPG sector, in particular, presents opportunities for automation platforms that can demonstrably improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

The startup’s backing by established venture firms including Index Ventures, a prominent European investor, underscores institutional confidence in the company’s market opportunity and execution capabilities. As CPG brands globally grapple with supply chain volatility and rising operational costs, autonomous AI platforms like Opply’s are likely to see continued demand from companies seeking competitive advantages through technological innovation.
