Norwegian Open Banking Platform Neonomics Secures €3.55 Million From Existing Shareholders

Neonomics, a Norwegian open banking platform, has raised €3.55 million (approximately $4 million) in a funding round backed by its existing shareholders, the company announced recently. The capital injection comes as the Oslo-based fintech firm strengthens its operational efficiency following substantial cost reductions.

The funding round was supported by Newmark Capital, Bankify, FirstMark Capital, and TTU Private Equity. This latest financing brings Neonomics’ total funding to €44.39 million since its founding in 2017.

Streamlined Operations Drive Growth Strategy

According to Alfonso Muñoz, the company’s leadership, Neonomics has fundamentally transformed its business model. “We have fundamentally strengthened Neonomics, creating a more focused and efficient business with a clear direction for growth. The combination of a significantly improved cost structure, growing customer demand and continued shareholder support puts us in a strong position to execute on our strategy,” Muñoz said.

The company’s recent restructuring saw operating costs reduced by nearly half, a move that reflects broader industry trends toward operational discipline in the fintech sector. This efficiency drive has coincided with increased demand from customers seeking integrated financial solutions.

Expansion into Consumer and Enterprise Services

Neonomics intends to deploy the newly raised capital toward several strategic initiatives. The company will focus on expanding its consumer-facing financial services offerings and developing enhanced personal finance solutions. Additionally, the fintech platform plans to strengthen its accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) capabilities, enabling businesses to construct customized products and workflows built around financial data.

The company’s platform operates at the intersection of open banking and financial data intelligence, positioning it to serve both individual consumers and enterprise customers across Europe. By providing tools for businesses to leverage financial data, Neonomics addresses the growing demand for integrated financial software solutions in an increasingly digitized economy.

European Open Banking Momentum

The funding round underscores continued investor confidence in European open banking platforms, despite broader fintech market headwinds. Open banking standards have gained traction across Europe following regulatory frameworks such as the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), which mandates financial institutions to share customer data with authorized third parties.

As European businesses and consumers seek more integrated financial management solutions, platforms like Neonomics are positioned to capture demand for services that aggregate data and enable seamless financial workflows. The company’s ability to attract repeat investment from existing shareholders demonstrates sustained confidence in its business model and market opportunity.

With operations centered in Oslo, Neonomics represents Norway’s growing contribution to the European fintech ecosystem, alongside other Scandinavian players making significant strides in financial technology innovation and open banking solutions.
