Talentware, an Italian HR-technology startup, has closed a €3.3 million seed round ($3.6 million), with its total funding now reaching approximately €5 million. The funding round was led by CDP Venture Capital, the venture capital arm of Italy’s national development bank, alongside contributions from 360 Capital and 035 Investimenti, as well as support from the investment vehicle New Gate (Filippini holding).
The seed round also attracted backing from several individual investors, including Renzo Cenciarini’s holding company and angel investors such as Luca Bitonto, Maria Elena Cappello, Luciano Carbone, Francesco Cameroni, Marco Gafforini, Paola Generali, Enrico Giacomelli, Matteo Melchiorri, Giuseppe Soda, Pierluigi Serlenga, Roberto Prioreschi, Simone Vesco, and Gabriele Zappa.
Building AI-Native HR Solutions
Founded in 2023, Talentware has developed an AI-native skill-intelligence platform designed to transform how organizations approach human resources management. The platform focuses on rapid skill mapping and assessment, positioning itself as a tool that enables HR departments to evolve toward a more strategic function within enterprises.
According to the startup’s founders, the deliberate choice to build the platform as an AI-native solution from inception shaped their technical approach fundamentally. “Being presented from the start as an AI-native solution allowed us to build a platform that fully leverages emerging technology, enabling rapid skill mapping and supporting the evolution of HR towards a more strategic role,” said Giacomo Marchiori, Ismet Balihodzic, and Andrea Raimondo, the startup’s founders.
Expansion Plans Across Europe
The capital injection will support three primary growth initiatives: expanding the Talentware team, enhancing the core product offering, and pursuing geographic expansion throughout Europe. The startup’s ambitions reflect a broader trend of European HR-tech companies seeking to scale beyond their home markets as enterprise demand for AI-powered workforce intelligence tools continues to strengthen.
The backing from CDP Venture Capital represents a significant endorsement from Italy’s leading public venture capital vehicle, signaling confidence in the startup’s market positioning and growth potential. The participation of 360 Capital, an Italian investment firm focused on technology ventures, further underscores investor appetite for innovative HR solutions emerging from the Italian startup ecosystem.
European HR-Tech Momentum
Talentware’s funding round arrives amid growing investment in European HR-technology platforms. The sector has attracted considerable attention from both institutional investors and corporate venture arms as organizations increasingly recognize the strategic importance of skills management and workforce optimization. Italian startups in particular have begun attracting greater venture capital attention as international investors broaden their focus beyond traditional European tech hubs, recognizing quality talent and business opportunities across the continent’s diverse startup landscapes.
