Italian fintech Tundr raises €11.6 million in Series A to expand corporate welfare benefits platform

Tundr, an Italian fintech company specializing in digital corporate welfare benefits, has secured €11.6 million ($12.5 million) in Series A funding to fuel its expansion across the European market. The round was led by CDP Venture Capital, with participation from returning investors 360 Capital and Azimut, alongside new backers including Kairos Partners, Crédit Agricole Italia, and Sella Direct Ventures.

The capital injection represents a significant milestone for the company as it looks to capitalize on growing demand for digitalized employee benefits solutions among mid-market and enterprise organizations. The funding will be deployed across multiple strategic initiatives, including scaling the business model, expanding the product offering, acquiring new corporate clients and establishing partnerships with financial institutions, insurers, and payroll providers.

Addressing a fragmented market opportunity

Giorgio Seveso, CEO and Founder of Tundr, highlighted the company’s market positioning in a statement: “Il welfare aziendale è un mercato che continua a crescere a doppia cifra, dove uno standard digitale non si ancora consolidato: è esattamente lo spazio in cui vogliamo giocare.” This observation captures the core opportunity Tundr has identified—a market segment experiencing double-digit annual growth while lacking a dominant digital standard or unified platform.

Corporate welfare benefits represent a substantial component of employee compensation packages across Europe, yet many organizations still rely on fragmented, legacy systems. Tundr’s platform seeks to modernize this landscape by providing a comprehensive digital solution that simplifies administration for employers while improving the user experience for employees.

Strengthened governance and investor confidence

The Series A close also brings organizational changes, with Carlo Enrico assuming the role of chairman of the board. This governance addition underscores the round’s credibility and reflects investor confidence in the company’s strategic direction and leadership team.

The investor syndicate represents a notable cross-section of Italian financial and industrial stakeholders. Beyond institutional backers, the round includes participation from several prominent entrepreneurs and executives, including Alessandro Fracassi of Gruppo MOL, Claudio Erba of Docebo, Enrico Mattiazzi of Fiscozen, and Paolo Basilico of Samhita Investments. This mix of institutional and angel-backed capital suggests broad recognition of the opportunity within Italy’s business community.

European context

The investment comes as corporate benefits platforms gain increasing traction across Europe. Fintech companies addressing employee financial wellness and benefits administration have attracted significant capital in recent years, with investors recognizing both regulatory tailwinds and persistent operational inefficiencies in how companies manage compensation packages. Tundr’s expansion plans suggest the company aims to replicate its approach beyond Italy, targeting other European markets where similar digitalization gaps exist in corporate welfare administration.
