Italian DeepTech Startup Magic Vision Secures €600,000 to Launch AI Monitoring System for Elderly Care

Magic Vision, an Italian artificial intelligence startup, has closed a €600,000 seed funding round to complete development and commercialise its AI-powered monitoring solution designed for elderly and vulnerable populations.

The Meda-based company, founded in 2023, will use the capital injection to finalise its Silver Eye system and accelerate its market entry across Italy and Europe. The round was led by SixS, with participation from Italian business angels, bringing Magic Vision’s total funding to €630,000.

Addressing Systemic Care Challenges

Magic Vision’s Silver Eye platform represents an attempt to tackle a mounting challenge facing healthcare systems across the continent. As European populations age, demand for care services continues to outpace available resources and personnel. The startup’s computer vision technology aims to provide continuous, non-intrusive monitoring of elderly individuals and vulnerable people, enabling caregivers to intervene quickly when necessary.

Lorenzo Mauri, presumably a company representative, articulated the problem the platform seeks to address: “Population ageing is putting pressure on care systems, which must meet growing needs with increasingly limited resources and staff. Technology can make a practical contribution by enabling continuous monitoring and timely intervention when needed.”

Market Expansion Strategy

Beyond completing product development, Magic Vision plans to deploy the funding across several strategic initiatives. The company intends to establish a network of partners and distributors throughout Italy, laying the groundwork for broader European expansion.

The €600,000 injection positions the startup to move beyond its current development phase into active commercialisation. This transition from prototype to market-ready product will be critical as the company competes in the growing elderly care technology sector.

European Context

Magic Vision’s funding reflects broader investor interest in DeepTech solutions addressing demographic challenges across Europe. The continent faces unprecedented ageing populations, with the European Commission projecting that by 2050, nearly one in three Europeans will be over 60 years old. This demographic shift is creating both challenges and opportunities for technology companies developing solutions for senior care, monitoring, and independence.

Italian startups in the AI and computer vision space have increasingly attracted venture funding as investors recognise the sector’s growth potential. Magic Vision joins other European DeepTech companies tackling healthcare and social challenges through advanced technologies, though competition in this space remains intense.

The startup’s focus on the Italian market first, before expanding elsewhere in Europe, follows a common strategy among European founders seeking to establish proof-of-concept and build local partnerships before scaling internationally. With SixS and Italian business angel backing, Magic Vision now has the resources to execute this phased expansion strategy.
