AlpSemi, a French semiconductor company developing solid-state circuit breaker technology, has closed a €17 million Series A funding round. The investment, led by Yotta Capital, brings together a consortium of strategic investors including SE Ventures, Navitas Semiconductor, and Cycle Group.
The funding will support AlpSemi’s efforts to advance its semiconductor power switch technology toward industrial production and commercial deployment. According to Frédéric Dupont, the company’s representative, “The funding will help accelerate the development of solid-state circuit breaker technology and support next-generation power protection and conversion systems.”
Advancing Power Protection Innovation
AlpSemi’s solid-state circuit breaker technology represents a significant evolution in electrical safety and power management. Unlike traditional mechanical circuit breakers, solid-state solutions offer faster response times, improved reliability, and reduced maintenance requirements. The technology addresses growing demand for advanced power protection across industrial, renewable energy, and grid infrastructure applications.
The capital injection enables AlpSemi to move beyond the research and development phase into manufacturing and market expansion. The company will utilise the funds to establish production capabilities and scale operations to meet commercial demand from system integrators and industrial partners across Europe and beyond.
Strategic Investor Backing
The composition of AlpSemi’s investor syndicate reflects confidence in both the technology and the broader cleantech semiconductor sector. Yotta Capital’s leadership of the round signals strong conviction in the company’s commercial potential. The involvement of Navitas Semiconductor, an established player in power conversion technology, suggests potential for collaboration and market validation. SE Ventures and Cycle Group bring additional strategic expertise and network access to support the company’s growth trajectory.
European Cleantech Momentum
AlpSemi’s funding success contributes to a broader acceleration in European cleantech innovation. The continent has intensified its focus on semiconductor technologies that support energy efficiency and grid modernisation, driven by climate commitments and digital transformation initiatives. French startups, in particular, have attracted increasing venture capital attention in the semiconductor and cleantech sectors, positioning the country as a meaningful hub for advanced manufacturing innovation.
The solid-state power electronics market remains relatively nascent, with significant runway for technical advancement and adoption across multiple industries. Companies addressing power conversion, protection, and efficiency challenges are well-positioned to benefit from structural trends favouring electrification and renewable energy integration.
With this Series A round, AlpSemi joins a growing cohort of European semiconductor startups translating deep technical innovation into scalable commercial solutions. The company’s progress will be closely watched as it moves toward production milestones and early commercial deployments that could validate the broader potential of solid-state circuit breaker technology in industrial applications.
