Berlin ConTech Startup Kuro Technology Secures €10 Million to Expand AI Platform for Construction

Kuro Technology, a Berlin-based construction technology company, has raised €10 million in funding to scale its artificial intelligence platform designed to streamline operations for general contractors across Europe.

The funding round was led by UVC Partners, with participation from Foundamental, Realyze Ventures, and helloworld. The capital injection represents the first major financing for the startup, which was founded in 2024.

The company plans to deploy the fresh funding toward expanding its AI-driven platform across critical back-office functions including procurement, accounting, and compliance. The platform currently focuses on streamlining estimating processes, with the new investment enabling broader integration across contractor workflows.

Addressing Construction Industry Pain Points

Construction remains one of Europe’s most digitally underdeveloped sectors, with many general contractors still relying on fragmented legacy systems and manual processes. Kuro Technology’s platform targets this inefficiency by automating time-consuming administrative tasks that divert resources from core business activities.

The startup’s timing reflects growing momentum in the ConTech space, where investors increasingly recognize the operational challenges facing contractors managing multiple projects simultaneously. By consolidating estimating, procurement, and compliance functions into a single AI-powered interface, Kuro Technology seeks to reduce administrative overhead and improve project margins.

Strong Backing From Experienced Investors

The confidence displayed by lead investor UVC Partners underscores the perceived opportunity within construction technology. Dr. Ingo Potthof, Managing Partner at UVC Partners, highlighted the strength of the founding team in his remarks about the investment.

“We’re delighted to be working with Lea and Jonas. We have known each other for many years, since well before Kuro was founded. They bring years of startup experience and deep industry knowledge, which matters a great deal in construction,” Dr. Potthof stated.

This investor commentary suggests that founder-investor relationships and sector expertise were key factors in the funding decision, rather than speculative positioning on artificial intelligence trends alone.

European ConTech Landscape

The investment arrives as European construction companies face mounting pressure to modernize operations amid labor shortages, rising material costs, and regulatory compliance requirements. Companies offering software solutions tailored to contractor workflows have attracted significant venture attention in recent years, though many markets remain underpenetrated compared to other industrial sectors.

Kuro Technology’s European focus positions it within a growing cluster of ConTech startups attempting to digitize construction operations across the continent. The company’s emphasis on practical back-office automation—rather than speculative use cases—reflects pragmatic investor interest in technologies addressing demonstrable pain points within the industry.
