ICEYE, a Finnish space-technology company specializing in satellite-based earth observation, has entered into a partnership with Sompo Japan Insurance to deploy its Flood Insights solution across the Japanese market. Under the partnership, Sompo Japan will leverage ICEYE’s synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite data to accelerate flood-damage assessments and improve the speed of claims processing. The initiative forms part of Sompo Japan’s broader Hikeshi DNA 2030 resilience project, which focuses on strengthening disaster response capabilities and improving outcomes for customers affected by natural disasters.
