Berlin Cybersecurity Startup Kazimi Raises €2.2 Million to Combat Bot Fraud in Mobile Advertising

Kazimi, a Berlin-based mobile cybersecurity company, has secured €2.2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round to advance its technology for protecting first-party data used by mobile app developers in marketing analytics and artificial intelligence applications.

The round was led by Market One Capital, with additional participation from IBB Ventures and several industry executives including Petri Hyökyranta, Janne Peltola, and Erik Massmann. The capital injection underscores growing investor confidence in solutions addressing data security challenges within the mobile advertising ecosystem.

Addressing a Critical Gap in Mobile Security

Kazimi’s core technology focuses on bot detection and data verification, tackling a persistent problem in the mobile app industry. According to the company, app developers currently lack reliable methods to distinguish between legitimate user signals and fraudulent bot activity within their datasets.

“Until now it has been technically impossible for app developers to have true visibility on which signals originate from real users and which signals come from bots,” said Andreas Naumann, speaking on behalf of the company. “With our advanced security solution, we are closing the loop and enabling app developers to protect their most important resource – their first party data.”

The issue extends beyond simple fraud prevention. As privacy regulations tighten globally, mobile app developers increasingly rely on first-party data collection rather than third-party tracking. However, this shift creates new vulnerabilities, as malicious actors attempt to inject fraudulent signals into these datasets, compromising the integrity of marketing analytics and AI training models.

Scaling for Global Expansion

Kazimi intends to deploy the funding toward scaling its technological infrastructure and expanding its footprint in the international mobile advertising market. The company operates within a critical segment of the broader mobile security landscape, where bot detection and data integrity have become essential competitive advantages.

The startup’s approach combines advanced security protocols with privacy-preserving mechanisms, allowing developers to verify data authenticity without compromising user confidentiality. This distinction positions the company at the intersection of cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, two increasingly important considerations for mobile app operators across Europe and beyond.

European Momentum in Mobile Security

The funding reflects a broader pattern of investment activity within Europe’s cybersecurity sector, particularly around specialized solutions addressing emerging digital threats. German startups have established themselves as notable contributors to this ecosystem, with Berlin hosting multiple ventures focused on data protection, verification, and security infrastructure.

Kazimi’s oversubscribed pre-seed round suggests investor appetite for practical solutions to real problems within the mobile advertising industry. As regulatory pressure mounts and consumer privacy expectations rise, solutions enabling transparent, verifiable data practices are likely to gain further traction across the European startup landscape.
