Tequipy, a Norwegian startup automating global IT operations, has raised over €3 million in a funding round led by Smedvig Ventures, with participation from Manta Ray and Unfold.vc.
The company, which operates across 180 countries, provides automation solutions for IT operations teams managing hardware and infrastructure at scale. The fresh capital will enable Tequipy to expand its platform beyond its current hardware-focused offerings into software and security operations, broadening its addressable market.
Addressing a Global Problem
Tequipy was founded to solve a widespread inefficiency in global IT operations. According to the company’s founder Tomek Stawarski, talented IT specialists are frequently diverted from strategic work to handle mundane physical tasks. “I’ve seen ambitious, talented IT specialists who should have been building scalable systems end up repacking boxes and wiping laptops with rags, while also trying to solve the problem of a device stuck at the border,” Stawarski explained.
This observation highlights a genuine operational pain point for enterprises managing distributed IT infrastructure. As organizations increasingly operate across multiple geographies and scale their device deployments, the logistical burden of managing hardware lifecycles, configuration, and deployment has become a significant drag on productivity.
Expanding the Platform
The €3 million+ investment will accelerate Tequipy’s product roadmap, moving the platform into complementary areas beyond hardware operations. By extending into software deployment and security operations, the company is positioning itself to become a more comprehensive IT operations automation platform that addresses multiple pain points within IT teams.
The backing of experienced investors signals confidence in the company’s market opportunity and execution. Smedvig Ventures, which led the round, brings significant experience investing in B2B infrastructure and operations software, while Manta Ray and Unfold.vc add additional strategic expertise to the company’s investor base.
Growing IT Automation Sector in Europe
Tequipy’s expansion reflects broader momentum in European enterprise software, particularly in IT operations automation and DevOps tooling. As European companies increasingly compete with larger US counterparts, optimizing internal operations has become a priority for many businesses seeking competitive advantages.
The startup ecosystem across Northern Europe has proven particularly fertile ground for infrastructure and operations software. Norwegian and Scandinavian companies have established themselves as capable builders of technical software solutions, and Tequipy’s funding round demonstrates continued investor appetite for tools that solve real operational challenges at scale.
With this capital infusion, Tequipy is positioned to grow its team, expand its product capabilities, and capture a larger share of the global IT operations automation market. The company’s focus on a tangible, widespread problem—combined with backing from credible investors—suggests it may become a notable player in the evolving IT operations software landscape.
