London AI Startup Affinity Labs Raises $2 Million to Scale Creator-Led Software Platform

Affinity Labs, a London-based artificial intelligence startup, has secured $2 million in pre-seed funding to expand its platform that pairs content creators with AI-assisted product development tools. The round was led by Fuel Ventures, with participation from Antler, Innovate UK (which provided a grant component), and angel investors including figures from Google DeepMind, Meta, Playfair VC, as well as individuals Marcello Ascani and Devran Amaratunga Karaca.

The capital injection represents validation for Affinity Labs’ thesis that creators represent an underutilised source of entrepreneurial talent. Rather than building products from scratch, the company works directly with content creators to co-found software brands that can leverage existing audiences and community trust as built-in distribution channels.

Bridging the Creator-to-Founder Gap

Edoardo Ricci, addressing the opportunity, stated: “Creators are the most underleveraged founders in the world. They have the audience, the trust and the loyalty but what they have lacked is the infrastructure to turn that into value. Affinity Labs exists to be that infrastructure, we co-found every product with a leading creator and put our AI factory behind it, so each brand launches with the built-in organic distribution that consumer products typically spend years building.”

The observation points to a structural gap in the creator economy. While platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram have generated audiences in the millions for individual creators, converting those audiences into sustainable revenue streams beyond advertising and sponsorship remains challenging. Affinity Labs positions itself as a solution, providing technological infrastructure and AI-driven development capabilities that would otherwise require significant capital and engineering expertise.

Allocation and Next Steps

The funding will support several strategic priorities for the company. The capital will be deployed to expand Affinity Labs’ portfolio of creator-led software brands, support the growth of existing products already in market, and strengthen the company’s internal product, growth and engineering teams. Critically, a portion will also fund continued development of the AI-powered product development technology that underpins the platform’s core value proposition.

The decision to raise at the pre-seed stage suggests Affinity Labs has already demonstrated initial product-market fit with at least some creator partnerships, though the company has not disclosed specifics regarding existing products or creator collaborations publicly.

European Context

The funding reflects broader momentum in the European AI sector, where startups are increasingly exploring applications beyond traditional enterprise software and research. London continues to position itself as a hub for AI-focused ventures, competing with Berlin and other European centres for investor capital and talent. The involvement of both established venture firms like Fuel Ventures and angel investors from major technology companies underscores the growing intersection between AI capabilities and creator economy infrastructure development across the region.
