ANote Music, a Luxembourg-based fintech startup, has secured €2 million in Series A funding to accelerate its expansion across Europe. The round was led by Seventure Partners, with participation from ScaleFund, bringing the company’s total funding to €2.5 million since its founding in 2018.
The startup operates a digital marketplace that enables retail investors to purchase and sell music royalty rights, democratizing access to an asset class traditionally reserved for institutional players and industry insiders. The platform connects rights holders seeking liquidity with investors looking for recurring income streams derived from music royalties.
Closing the Gap for Ordinary Investors
Speaking about the investment, ANote Music founder and CEO Marzio F. Schena emphasized the market opportunity his company addresses. “Music royalties have been one of the most resilient income streams in finance, and one of the hardest for ordinary investors to reach. We built ANote to close that gap: fair, transparent valuations for the rights holders who sell, and recurring royalty income for the people who buy. Seventure and ScaleFund let us do that for a far larger market,” Schena stated.
The capital injection will support several strategic priorities for the company. ANote Music plans to expand its catalogue offerings, increase its user base across the European market, and enhance marketing and user acquisition efforts. Additionally, the startup intends to invest in research and development for both its web platform and mobile applications.
Growth Trajectory in Music Fintech
The funding round reflects growing investor interest in music fintech solutions that create alternative investment channels. As the recorded music industry continues to generate substantial revenues, opportunities have emerged for platforms that facilitate transparent trading and valuation of rights. ANote Music’s marketplace model allows both individual and institutional participants to engage with music royalties at different scales.
The involvement of Seventure Partners, a venture capital firm focused on digital innovation and fintech, alongside ScaleFund underscores the perceived potential of the music royalties market in Europe. These investors recognize the combination of asset resilience, growing retail investment appetite, and regulatory frameworks that support transparent digital trading platforms.
The round comes at a time when European startups are increasingly attracting capital for solutions that bridge traditional asset classes with digital infrastructure. ANote Music’s focus on regulatory compliance and fair valuation mechanisms positions it within the broader trend of fintech companies modernizing legacy financial markets.
With its expanded resources, ANote Music is positioned to compete in a nascent but growing sector. The company’s emphasis on transparency and accessibility suggests a strategy to build trust with both rights holders and investors as it scales operations across European markets where music royalty trading remains relatively underdeveloped compared to other investment alternatives.
