Belgian AI Safety-Testing Startup IVEX Secures €5 Million Series A to Expand Globally

IVEX, a Belgian deep-tech company specializing in AI-powered automotive safety testing, has raised €5 million ($5.4 million) in a Series A funding round to accelerate its platform development and establish operations in North America and Asia.

The Heverlee-based startup, which was founded in 2018 as a spin-out from KU Leuven, received backing from The Faktory and Dedicated.lu, alongside contributions from private investors. The funding will enable the company to strengthen its engineering capabilities, expand its geographic footprint, and broaden support for various New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) protocols.

Automating Repetitive Testing Analysis

IVEX has developed a platform that leverages artificial intelligence and mathematical algorithms to streamline the analysis of vehicle safety testing data. The automotive industry generates substantial volumes of data through crash tests and safety evaluations, yet much of the analysis process continues to rely on manual, repetitive work performed by engineers.

According to Mario Torres, “Vehicle safety testing generates enormous amounts of data, but much of its analysis still depends on repetitive manual work. AI and rigorous mathematical algorithms allows us to make the testing process significantly faster and more scalable while keeping engineers in control and ensuring that every result remains traceable to the original data. With this funding, we can deepen the capabilities of our platform and bring IVEX technology to North America and Asia.”

The platform positions itself as an operating system for automotive safety testing, aiming to reduce time-to-insight while maintaining full transparency and traceability of analytical results. By automating data processing workflows, IVEX enables safety testing organizations to handle increased volumes without proportionally expanding their workforce.

Strategic Expansion and Infrastructure Development

The €5 million injection will support multiple strategic objectives. Beyond geographic expansion, IVEX plans to strengthen its data-processing infrastructure to handle growing computational demands as it scales. The company also intends to broaden its protocol support, allowing it to serve testing facilities operating under different regulatory frameworks across various regions.

The Series A round follows IVEX’s initial seed funding and represents a significant milestone in the company’s trajectory toward becoming a cornerstone technology provider in automotive safety testing.

Growing Deeptech Presence in Europe

IVEX’s funding success reflects the continued momentum in Europe’s deep-tech sector, particularly in specialized applications of artificial intelligence. Belgian startups have increasingly attracted investor attention for their technical expertise and innovative approaches to complex industrial challenges. The involvement of Dedicated.lu, a Luxembourg-based investor, alongside The Faktory underscores the cross-border dynamics of European venture capital investing in specialized technology solutions.

As automotive safety standards continue to evolve and testing protocols become more rigorous, platforms automating data analysis are positioned to become essential infrastructure for the industry. IVEX’s expansion strategy indicates growing confidence among investors that European deep-tech solutions can achieve global market relevance in regulated industries.
