Veridue, a London-based artificial intelligence platform specialising in due diligence for infrastructure financing, has closed a €3.44 million pre-seed funding round to accelerate its expansion across Europe’s renewable energy and data centre sectors.
The round was led by Episode 1 Ventures, with participation from venture capital firms HTGF and Pi Labs, alongside industry angels including Cameron Hepburn, co-founder of Aurora Energy Research, and Jeremy Palmer, former chief executive of Quantum Black.
Addressing Infrastructure Bottlenecks
Founded in 2024, Veridue has developed an artificial intelligence-native platform designed to streamline the due diligence and mergers and acquisitions processes that typically slow infrastructure financing deals. The company’s technology aims to enable faster evaluation of renewable energy projects and data centre investments, sectors increasingly critical to Europe’s energy transition and digital infrastructure expansion.
The capital injection will support the rollout of Veridue’s platform, expand its artificial intelligence-driven deal pipeline management capabilities, and accelerate investment and project financing for renewable energy and data centre assets across the continent.
Timo Bertsch, Investment Manager at HTGF, underscored the urgency of Veridue’s mission in his statement on the funding: “The infrastructure Europe needs — renewables, data centres, grid capacity — represents one of the most critical buildouts of our generation. Capital is ready. Projects are in the pipeline. What’s been missing is the ability to move deals at the pace the moment demands. Veridue is fixing exactly that,” he said.
Capitalising on Infrastructure Demand
The funding arrives at a moment when European institutional capital demonstrates substantial appetite for renewable energy and data centre investments, yet project timelines frequently extend beyond typical expectations. Traditional due diligence processes rely heavily on manual analysis and document review, creating bottlenecks that can delay deals by months.
Veridue’s artificial intelligence-driven approach promises to automate and accelerate these critical evaluation stages, potentially enabling capital to flow more efficiently toward projects that meet strict financial and operational criteria.
The company’s focus on renewable energy and data centre financing reflects broader European investment trends. Renewable energy capacity additions across the continent accelerated significantly in recent years, while data centre development has intensified due to artificial intelligence infrastructure demand and cloud computing requirements.
European Ecosystem Momentum
Veridue’s funding illustrates continued investor confidence in artificial intelligence applications targeting specific industrial challenges rather than generalised language models. The startup joins a growing cohort of European technology companies addressing infrastructure sector inefficiencies through automation and data analysis.
The pre-seed round demonstrates the appetite among specialist venture capital firms and strategic angels to back founders tackling Europe’s infrastructure paradox: abundant capital and project pipelines constrained by process inefficiencies. As Europe pursues its climate objectives and digital infrastructure ambitions, addressing these deal execution challenges has emerged as a meaningful opportunity for technology-enabled solutions.
