French AI Adoption Platform Mendo Raises €12M in Series A Funding

Mendo, a French startup focused on helping enterprises adopt generative and agentic AI systems, has secured €12 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Ventech and Educapital, with participation from Tomcat and OVNI.

The Paris-based company, founded in 2021, addresses a critical gap in how organizations implement advanced AI technologies. Rather than focusing solely on AI model development or deployment, Mendo targets the organizational and human dimensions of AI adoption at scale.

The Challenge of Agentic AI Adoption

The funding underscores growing market recognition that deploying generative and agentic AI requires more than technical infrastructure. Quentin Amaudry, founder of Mendo, articulated this shift in perspective: “With agentics, AI changes status: it is no longer a tool that saves you a few hours a week, it becomes the layer that orchestrates and governs all of a company’s operations. No company will pull off this transition without bringing its people along and changing the way it is organised. Our role is to make that adoption possible at scale, without leaving anyone behind.”

This framing reflects a broader industry realization that successful AI integration demands organizational change management alongside technical implementation. As companies move beyond using AI for isolated tasks to implementing agentic systems that coordinate business operations, the people and process dimensions become equally important.

Growth Plans for European Expansion

Mendo plans to deploy the capital toward product development, team growth, and expansion across Europe. The investment arrives as enterprises increasingly grapple with the practical challenges of integrating AI systems into existing workflows and organizational structures.

The participation of established venture firms in the round signals confidence in the European market’s appetite for AI adoption solutions. Ventech and Educapital’s involvement reflects their respective focuses on deep-tech innovation and education-related ventures, suggesting Mendo’s platform addresses training and organizational learning components alongside technical deployment.

Broader European AI Ecosystem Context

Mendo’s funding round comes amid sustained interest in European AI infrastructure and adoption tools. While much attention in the AI sector has focused on model development and foundation AI companies, enterprise adoption platforms represent an increasingly visible category within the European startup ecosystem. As organizations across the continent move to integrate more sophisticated AI capabilities, the market for specialized adoption and change management platforms continues to expand.

The funding also reflects France’s position as a growing hub for AI-focused startups, alongside established centers like Germany and the UK. With major computational resources and research institutions supporting AI development, French companies are increasingly addressing the enterprise side of the AI value chain.
